The Pike County Cattlemen’s Association (PCCA) proudly announces the successful completion of a new well project, a significant enhancement to their facilities. This milestone was made possible through the dedicated advocacy of Wes Allen, now Secretary of State, and crucial funding from Wiregrass RC&D.
The completion of the well was celebrated on August 24th at the Pike County Rodeo, where Wiregrass RC&D Executive Director Ronnie Davis, Senator Josh Carnley, Representative Marcus Paramore, and Secretary of State Wes Allen were honored for their pivotal roles in this achievement.
The PCCA facilities serve a variety of essential functions within the community, including providing support to the local Electric Cooperative, aiding first responders during emergencies, offering camper hookups, and serving as a shelter for livestock in extreme weather conditions. In the event of a total power outage, the new well ensures that the facilities can continue to provide water to all occupants.
The $20,000 grant allocated for this project will have a lasting impact, reinforcing the PCCA’s ability to serve the community effectively for years to come.
