LEAD Wiregrass proudly concluded its 2024 class with a graduation ceremony on August 15th, celebrating a year of growth, learning, and community engagement. The day began with a farm tour of the Wiregrass Experiment Station, offering participants a firsthand look at local agricultural innovations. Dean Mitchell, Director of HudsonAlpha Wiregrass, delivered an informative presentation about the Wiregrass Innovation Center, a $30 million facility that is part of the Dothan City Center downtown revitalization project. Attendees also heard from several local legislative representatives, gaining valuable insights into the region’s legislative landscape.
Following these presentations, students toured the state-of-the-art Wiregrass Public Safety Center, exploring the facility’s unique contributions to local safety training and public service. As LEAD Wiregrass looks ahead, we are working diligently to finalize plans for the 2025 LEAD class and will share details soon.
