The Wiregrass Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council recently visited Douglas Park in Headland to formally present a $50,000 Community Development Grant to the city. We were honored to be joined by Senator Billy Beasley and Representative Rick Rehm, whose partnership was vital to completing these baseball field upgrades.
The grant funds were used to install new bleachers and two new scoreboards. Additionally, the project included a new backstop and necessary dirt work to improve the playing surface for the athletes.
At Wiregrass RC&D, we believe in helping local people meet local needs. By providing the funding for this new equipment, we are proud to help the City of Headland create a safer, better environment for the families and youth athletes who use Douglas Park every season.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to Senator Billy Beasley and Representative Rick Rehm for their continued support. Their commitment to investing in our communities and future generations is what makes projects like this possible. We appreciate their dedication to the Wiregrass and their partnership in seeing this project through.
