The first Lead & Grow: Wiregrass Nonprofits training event, hosted by Wiregrass RC&D, was a resounding success, bringing together over 65 nonprofit leaders, staff, and volunteers for two days of in-depth learning and networking.
Led by Melissa Metcalf Le Roy, a nonprofit management expert with degrees from Western Carolina and Duke University, attendees gained valuable insights on mission development, fundraising, board governance, financial management, and more. Many participants left with actionable to-do lists to strengthen their organizations and increase their impact.
“We’re proud to be able to host an event for local nonprofits to help their organizations. We plan to host future trainings to continue to support nonprofits in the Wiregrass,” said Ronnie Davis, Executive Director of Wiregrass RC&D.
The event emphasized hands-on learning, with attendees engaging in discussions and exercises designed to improve nonprofit operations. Le Roy, who teaches nonprofit management courses and runs OnFire Nonprofit Consulting, provided expert guidance, equipping participants with practical tools to enhance their work.
With such positive feedback, Wiregrass RC&D looks forward to offering more training opportunities to empower local nonprofits and help them grow.
